Yet Another Autoblogger (YAAB) For Wordpress Is Out

I am happy to announce that for the first time in the history of Wordpress software, a medical doctor ( me myself — sorry for boasting ) has programmed a very complex, impressing, and highly useful Wordpress plugin.

I know little bit of PHP programming. I have put it all together and gave birth  to Yet Another Autoblogger (YAAAB) plugin for Wordpress. This plugin can automatically create and post blog entries using rss feeds from other sites.

Comparing to other autoblogger plugins, YAAB has/can

  1. Convert each rss item to separate blog entries ( MODE : DUPLICATE )
  2. Create an automatic blogging carnival in your blog using rss feeds. Summaries of entries from different blogs will be published in to single posts. ( MODE: CARNIVAL )
  3. You can post blog using SMS. Detailed tutorials will be published soon. ( MODE: SMS BLOGGING )
  4. You can run a automatic youtube clone website by automatically embedding youtubbe videos in your posts. ( MODE : YOUTUBE CLONING )
  5. Built in cron jobs. No need to use external or servers cron jobs. ( many servers do not allow cron jobs )
  6. No need of curl extension in server.
  7. No need to install external rss classes like simplepie. Yaab uses magpie that is built in with wordpress.
  8. Interactive interphase where yoiu will never get confused.
  9. Update alert at plugin dashboard.
  10. Free and GPLv3

How To Install

  1. Download
  2. Unzip
  3. Upload to www.yoursite.com/wp-content/plugins
  4. Login to your admin panel
  5. Go to plugins page
  6. Activate “Yet Another Autoblogger”
  7. Done !!

How to set up

  1. As you are logged in to your admin panel ( else login ), go to settings
  2. select Autoblogger(YAAB) tab.
  3. Click “Add project” link of left panel, proceed according to live instructions
  4. ok, ok,.. nothing to worry. As I am not a tech guy, I have made it maximum user friendly to help non-techies like me to use it easier.

Satheesh. just tested your plugin in our Kaplak Labs. Got a few pts of feedback for further improvement :

- First, I can’t get it to fetch multiple posts in separate posts, like FWP or WP-o-Matic does. It fetches only the latest post or saves the complete feed into a single post, no matter what values I provide it with.

- It’s very userfriendly and I like the little character which help guide setting up a feed for aggregation. Very nice!

- I also like the template very much. It’s very similar to what Guillermo did in WP-o-Matic, and I like it

- However, there are no variables for author, date posted, permalinks back to the source, or other data included in the feeds. Would be nice to be able to extract all the information in the feed, and place it where I want in the post. Also would be nice to have a regex like functionality to replace terms or code in a feed item, like the one used in WP-o-Matic. But especially the author and source/permalink information is crucial, IMHO.

- There are no functionality for tagging incoming posts.

- Looks very promising what you did with YouTube feeds, although I haven’t played with it yet - but I will :-)
- I also have no idea absolutely how flexible your plugin is yet when it comes to feeds from Twitter Search and other such weird Atom sources. But as this is the first version, I’ll worry about that later :-) Keep up the good work!

Another version of Yaab is released fixing 90% of problems indicated by you

1. Yaab already has a built in option to post multiple posts like wp-o-matic and feedwordpress, but the problem was with the explanation I gave. With the latest version, I have added a checkbox upon clicking which, this wp-o-matic style will be enabled.

2.I have experimented with common feeds. One guy told me that it Yaab can’t work with yahoo pipes. I have fixed this problem.

3.I have added options for author, post status, ping status and comment status.

4. I have added variables for original permalink, [permalink] tag can be used for it in content pattern.

5. Yaab has category support. soon, I will add tags too.

6.About post dates..I am still experimenting

Hi Satheesh,

I am really new to RSS. My questions is how do I get feed URL from my main topic. My topic is about health and forex. And how to search feed url for other topic.

There are many methods…usually i will search and find a health related blog and copy the rss url from its subscription link.

The easiest method is to use rss from google blogsearech.. for example

http://blogsearch.google.com/blogsearch_feeds?oe=utf-8&um=1&hl=en&q=keyword1+keyword2&ie=utf-8&num=10&output=rss

is the rss url for keyword1 and two.. you can replace it with some health related terms like imatinib+leucocytosis+interleukin

Thanks for YYAB — great. I’m a newb at this so a question: How do I get YYAB to put the articles I feed into my blog on a page other than the Home page? I would like to have it go to my News page?
